Family businesses

Family businesses are the mainstay and driving force of many economies around the world. They produce nearly half of the GDP and provide half of the jobs. These entities are commonly associated with the sector of small and medium enterprises, but there are also large enterprises and international holdings companies among them.

What role do family businesses play in the shaping of country’s competitiveness and countering economic crises? On what kind of support may family entrepreneurship count? How to run such a business to ensure its success? Is succession always the best solution for the future of a family business? These are just some of the questions that will be answered by experts during the V European Congress of Small and Medium-Size Enterprises.

Family entrepreneurship will be the topic of two panel sessions during the Congress – on its 2nd and 3rd day. The “Family businesses” session will take place on the 13th of October 2015 at 11.30 to 13.30, and the “Future of my family business – only succession? Real stories” session the day after at 9.00 to 11.00. Participation in the Congress is free of charge. We invite you to register at
