This year theme of ECSME was release the business. Releasing the business depends mostly on the innovation of the economy, said our experts and speakers. When we are talking about the innovation we must consider it in the area of management, recruitment, technology and cooperation. The innovations should be moved to the area of finance, law and to the whole business environment which develop the country economy and business. Innovation is even a way of thinking, which we can learn by meetings and discussions with inspiring people, especially during our Congress!

Thanks to the initiative which will build on the basis of this agreement, Polish startups will have a chance to take a part in the acceleration programme on US market with help of institutions and mentors from the Nevada State.

Metropolis, what is next?

We spoke about the shape of Metropolis during previous editions of ECSME but this year we showed this topic to the representatives of the newly created Metropolis. During the debate we host many great speakers: Mr. Wojciech Saługa ( Marshal of the Voivodeship of Silesia), Mr. Jarosław Wieczorek ( Silesian Voivode), Mr. Kazimierz Karolczak (chairman of the board of the Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolia), Mr. Marcin Krupa (Mayor of the City of Katowice), Mr. Krzysztof Lewandowski (Deputy Mayor of the city of Zabrze), the discussion provided us with some postulates. They spoke about the transport in the area of metropolis, Mr. Kazimierz Karolczak make a postulate about the common transport tariff for buses, trams and trolley buses. From 1st of January 2018 every citizen of the Metropolis will use the common transport tariff with cheaper tickets. We learned that the European Investment Bank will make accessible the credit lines for small municipalities.

Future of transport

The cooperation between science, self-government and business is expressed in the Zero-Emission Public Transport programme. During the 7th edition of ECSME representatives of National Centre for Research and Development announce the tender on the prototype of zero- emission public transport. The participants of the programme, 23 cities from Poland and KZK GOP with 29 communities, oblige themselves to buy near 600 zero-emission buses.

Zero-emission buses were not the only topic related to the future of transport. During the Congress our experts spoke about the future mobility. The future of the transport is heading to the direction of the electricity, which shows the last EU directive which order to build charging stations on the parking lots with at least 10 spots.

Science and the economy

Jarosław Gowin showed the “Studia dualne” program as an example of the cooperation of science and business. Thanks to this plan, entrepreneurs will be an active part of the educational process and they will have an opportunity to train their future employees with the proper skillset. The participants of the program will get the knowledge at the university and work on their skills working for the chosen entrepreneurs. The results of the contest will be announced in November.
